ADMINISTRATION OF THE PROGRAMME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSESSMENT 2025 MAIN SURVEY

1. The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), will administer the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025 Main Survey, pursuant to DepEd Order No. 29, s. 2017 titled Policy Guidelines on System Assessment in the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
2. The goal of PISA is to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students who are approaching the end of their compulsory education. The PISA tests how students can apply their knowledge and skills to real-life situations and problems, rather than testing their knowledge recall. The three core domains of PISA are Reading Literacy, Scientific Literacy, and Mathematical Literacy. In PISA 2025, the major domain of assessment is Scientific Literacy and the innovative domain is Learning in the Digital World (LDW).
3. The approved testing window for the Philippines in the PISA 2025 Main Survey is from March 10 to May 2, 2025, using a computer-based assessment (CBA). However, considering the SY 2024-2025 school calendar and holidays, data collection will be conducted in five batches over 23 days, from March 10 to April 11, 2025.
4. The list of the sample schools and test schedules will be communicated directly to the concerned regional offices and school division offices to maintain the confidentiality and anonymity of the participants.
5. The PISA 2025 Main Survey Administration entails downloading of Program Support Funds (PSF) to field offices for programs and activities related to the PISA National Training and Survey Operations. The guidelines on the use of this PSF were released in a separate memorandum.
