124th FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

1. Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 322, s. 1997 titled Authorizing Certain Government Agencies to Undertake Activities in Preparation for their Centennial Anniversary Celebrations in 1997, 1998, and 1999, the Department of Education (DepEd) announces its 124th Founding Anniversary with the theme, PAMANA: Kahusayan at Tagumpay ng Edukasyon.
2. In the Filipino language, pamana means heritage, inheritance, or legacy. It relates to a special possession being passed on, commonly, to a new generation. The theme, PAMANA: Kahusayan at Tagumpay ng Edukasyon, relates to DepEd commitment to providing Filipino learners with quality basic education that is accessible, inclusive, and liberating and passing this mandate to the upcoming new administration.
3. In view of the foregoing, the Department will have its weeklong celebration from June 20 to 24, 2022, for its 124th Founding Anniversary. To promote public awareness of this momentous event, the DepEd Central Office enjoins all DepEd officials, personnel, and learners at the regional, schools division offices, and schools to
a. Produce Information and Communication Materials by
i. Hanging DepEd 124th Founding Anniversary official streamer in offices and schools;
b. Participate in DepEd Online Celebration by:
i. Joining the following national activities to be livestreamed via DepEd Philippines' official Facebook (FB) page:

ii. Using the official frame for profile photos on FB to be re1eased on DepEd Philippines' official FB page;
iii. Submitting personal photo documentation with caption that depicts personal endeavor in connection to this year’s anniversary theme (see Enclosure No. 1 for more details);
iv. Sharing Anong kwentong DepEd mo? a written post or video recording on social media using the hashtags #DepEd124 and #PamanaNgEdukasyon (see Enclosure No. 2 for more details); and
v. Following and joining other online activities to be released through DepEd Philippines official FB page.
c. Organize Activities based on the theme by:
i. Encouraging offices and school to organize their own activities within the weeklong celebration. All are encouraged to continuously observe minimum public health and safety protocol to ensure all DepEd personnel and learners are safe while enjoying this momentous celebration.

5. Expenses and other incurred expenditures shall be charged to respective local funds subject to pertinent accounting and auditing rules and regulation .

ENCLOSURE 1. Submission of Personal Photo Documentation
Calling all interested DepEd officials, teaching personnel, non-teaching employees, learners, individuals and/ or groups of individuals, to showcase endeavors and accomplishments by submitting photos that depict this year's DepEd Founding Anniversary theme - PAMANA: Kahusayan at Tagumpay ng Edukasyon.
Criteria:
1. Only DepEd officials, teaching or non-teaching personnel, and learners can join this activity either individually or as a group.
2. One (1) photo or a maximum of four (4) related photos is/are considered as one entry.
3. Photo/s to be submitted must be original, unedited, and must be in a high-definition format.
4. Each photo must be provided with a caption and must be related to a personal act or approach depicting pamana in the education context within the community.
Procedure:
1. Interested individuals or groups are requested to submit their entries through this link: https://bit.ly/DepEdl24Pamana.
2. Submissions are open until June 24, 2022, at 11:59 PM only.
3. The selection of the entries will be based on the relevance to the pamana concept.
4. Selected entries will be featured on the DepEd Philippines official FB page during the celebration week of DepEd's 124th Founding Anniversary.
Please note that you might be asked to provide additional personal information about yourself or your group and a short write-up about the entries submitted.

Open to all DepEd officials, teaching personnel, non-teaching employees, learners, individuals and/or groups of individuals who wish to share their success stories in the Department of Education.
Criteria:
The story should contain:
1. Four (4) words to describe your DepEd experience;
2. Three (3) best memories in DepEd;
3. Two (2) reasons why you love DepEd; and
4. One (1) sentence of your pamana or wish to the DepEd Community.
Procedure:
1. Stories may be shared through written post or video recording on social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, etc.).
2. Use hashtags #DepEd124 and #PamanaNgEdukasyon when posting stories.
3. Selected posts will be reshared and featured on the DepEd Philippines official FB page.
Reminders for learners who are 13 years old and below are encouraged to use and share their posts using their parents’ or guardians’ social media accounts. This is to protect their identity and ensure their security in a public virtual space.
Strict compliance to social media community guidelines must be observed at all times. We encourage everyone to use gender-fair language and exercise caution when posting personal and identifiable information.
