DepEd Launches Mobile App with COVID-19 Vaccination Tracker for DepEd Personnel

The Department of Education (DepEd) developed the DepEd Mobile App to provide a safer avenue for teaching and non-teaching personnel to provide information and status of their vaccination in support of the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan (NDVP).

According to Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones,

“We decided to create this platform to give our personnel and teachers a hassle-free and contactless way of handing out their vaccination status. We also want to maximize the use of technology in consolidating information of the vaccinees”.

Through the App, DepEd personnel can log in and provide updated information on their vaccination status.  The App can be downloaded in App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android), to which will no longer require manual data collection in all governance levels since the process will be done remotely.

The Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del B. Pascua mentioned that

“The app can generate and send consolidated reports per division and region. Overall, this technology simplifies and lessens administrative tasks and minimizes inaccuracy and errors in data collection".

The OUA memorandum issued Monday also provides a user guide to guide staff through a step-by-step understanding of how to use the app, from registration to providing personal information. In addition to other details related to COVID-19, the app also provides a series of questions for users to update their vaccination status.

He also pointed out that the data collected from the application is fundamental for the formulation of policies and the solution of the existing challenges in the vaccination program implemented by the national government.

“All the information collected will guide the Department’s leaders across all governance levels in making appropriate decisions to respond to the ongoing pandemic. Only timely and accurate information can help provide appropriate solutions to DepEd’s concerns”.

Recently, with the assistance of the Pasig City Council, 790 people from the Central Office of DepEd and the Regional Office of MIMAROPA received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine.

Regional offices and branches of the Department of Education are also constantly promoting Vacc2School activities to encourage staff to register for local government vaccination activities.
