NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORTS’ ANNUAL SEARCH FOR COMPETENT, EXCEPTIONAL, NOTABLE, AND TALENTED STUDENT-ATHLETE SCHOLARS 2025

1. The National Academy of Sports (NAS), a sports high school and an attached agency of the Department of Education (DepEd), is conducting the NAS’ Annual Search for Competent, Exceptional, Notable, and Talented Student-Athlete Scholars 2025 (NASCENT SAS 2025) and is now accepting applications for a full scholarship to an enhanced secondary education program, integrated with a special curriculum on sports.
2. It serves as the NAS' admission program or the annual search to identify and offer scholarships to academically competent and athletically talented natural-born Filipino youth from all sectors of society who excel in the following NAS focus sports: Aquatics (Swimming), Athletics, Badminton, Gymnastics (Rhythmic). Judo, Table Tennis. Taekwondo (Poomsae and Kyorugi), and Weightlifting.
3. The applicants must:
a. Be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
b. Be currently enrolled as a Grade 6 or a graduate of elementary school at the time of application (for incoming Grade 7) / currently enrolled as Grade 7 (for incoming Grade 8);
c. Not be older than 14 years old (for incoming Grade 7), 15 years old (for incoming Grade 8) at the start of the school year (SY);
d. Have a general weighted average of at least 80%;
e. Show evidence of potential in their particular sport;
f. Show proof of being in good health and physical fitness to undergo a rigorous athletic program; and
g. Be under the specified NAS focus sports: Aquatics (Swimming), Athletjcs, Badminton, Gymnastics (Rhythmic), Judo, Table Tennis, Taekwondo (Poomsae and Kyorugi), Weightlifting.
4. Qualified applicants will receive the following privileges (based on the SY 2024-2025 scholarship agreement):
a. Full Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees;
b. Meal and Accommodations;
c. Loan of learning materials such as books and e-books;
d. Monthly stipend;
e. Sports uniform and equipment;
f. Guidance Counseling and Athletic Well-being Services;
g. Nutrition Counseling and Food Services;
h. Access to all sports facilities within the NAS Campus and other facilities as may be determined by NAS;
i. Provision for medical-related emergency and rehabilitation support systems (insurance, clinics, etc.);
j. Covered expenses for participation in NAS-recognized and initiated local and international training and competitions (e.g., NSA and internationally federation-recognized competitions) to include transportation, accommodation, insurance, meals, allowance, registration fees, and other travel requirements needed;
k. Such other inclusions/privileges and benefits as may be specifically documented under the rules and policies of NAS, subject to the availability of funds and government accounting/ auditing rules and procedures; and
1. The scholarship grant is renewable every school year subject to the student-athlete's sports and academic performance.

6. NAS will also conduct the NASCENT SAS Regional Articulation Campaign in key locations around the Philippines to conduct pocket forums, invite potential applicants, and provide timely assistance and guidance to applicants. 7. The deadline for submission of applications is on March 7, 2025. The announcement of qualified applicants is in May 2025.
