ELDERLY FILIPINO WEEK CELEBRATION

l. The Department of Education (DepEd), in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 470 declaring the first week of October of every year as Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino or Elderly Filipino Week (EFW), supports the Annual Celebration of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) with the theme, Honoring the Invaluable Legacy of Filipino Senior Citizen.
2. In view of the foregoing, all offices (Central, regional, and schools division offices) and schools are enjoined to support and participate in the celebration by organizing activities and displaying the EFW poster layout which is accessible via the NCSC website (www.ncsc.gov.ph).
3. The offices are requested to share the documentation of the conducted activity through email at ph.ncsc@gmail.com or through posting the photos on Facebook and Instagram accounts using the hashtags, #LegacyofFilipinoElderly, #EFW2023, and #EFWDepEd.
4. Public schools shall observe compliance with DepEd Order 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
