2023 MTAP SATURDAY PROGRAMS IN MATHEMATICS FOR REGULAR AND TALENTED LEARNERS
The Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) Inc. will offer 2023 MTAP Saturday Programs in Mathematics for Regular and Talented Grade 1 to 10 Learners from public and private schools.
The program for regular learners will be held from January 7 to February 11, 2023 (six Saturdays). It aims to:
1. Provide the learners with the opportunity to explore Mathematics without the threat of tests;
2. Review them on the materials covered in the last school year to enable them to do well in Mathematics in the present school year; and
3. Prepare the Grade 6 and Grade 10 learners for entrance examinations for Grade 7, junior high school (JHS).
The program for talented learners will be conducted from February 18 to March 25, 2023 (six Saturdays). It aims to:
1. Prepare the Grade 6 and Grade 10 learners for their entrance examinations for Grade 7, JHS, and Grade 11, senior high school (SHS); and
2. Train them for the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd-Math Challenge Competition.
The above-mentioned programs shall be conducted via Zoom platform from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. All interested learners are required to register only once for the program. The registration link will be posted soon.
Participation of learners and teachers from public and private schools shall be purely voluntary and will not hamper instructional time in compliance with the provisions of DepEd Order (DO) No. 34, s. 2022 titled School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023 and DO 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith and the policy off-campus activities stated in DO 66, s. 2017.
This is also subject to the no-collection policy as stated in Section 3 of the Republic Act No. 5546 also known as An Act Prohibiting the Sale of Tickets and/or the Collection of Contributions for Whatever Project or Purpose from Students and Teachers of Public and Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities (Ganzon Law).
