National Education Summit of the Synergeia Foundation Inc.

 

The Department of Education (DepEd) issues DepEd Memorandum No. 062, s. 2024, inviting its officials and personnel to attend the 2025 Washington SyCip National Education Summit organized by the Synergeia Foundation. Set for February 5-6, 2025, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, the summit will focus on key topics, including the management of the Special Education Fund, the conferment of the Seal of Good Education Governance to distinguished local government units, and discussions on enhancing the governance of School Governing Councils. DepEd personnel are authorized to attend, provided it does not affect their official responsibilities, and expenses may be charged to MOOE or local funds in compliance with standard financial regulations.

NATIONAL EDUCATION SUMMIT OF THE SYNERGEIA FOUNDATION INC.

All Others Concerned

 

1. Every year, the Synergeia Foundation convenes the Washington SyCip National Education Summit. This year, it will be held from February 5-6, 2025, at the Plenary Hall, Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.

 

2. The highlights of the Summit are the following:

 

a. Proposed study on the management of the Special Education Fund;

b. Conferment of the Seal of Good Education Governance to local government units that have significantly contributed to the increase in participation, retention, and improvement of reading skills of children; and

c. Panel discussions on the governance of School Governing Councils: community engagement, making education programs more inclusive.

 

3. In line with the Department of Education's (DepEd) ongoing support for initiatives that strengthen education partnerships at the local level, DepEd officials and teaching and nonteaching personnel invited by Synergeia or their local partners to the Summit are authorized to attend the event, provided that their participation does not interfere with their regular duties and responsibilities.

 

4. The registration fee for each participant may be charged to the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) or other local funds, subject to approval from the relevant authorities and contingent upon fund availability, and in accordance with the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

 

5. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired
