Users logging into Meta's social media platforms on Tuesday morning were met with an unfortunate development: warning messages indicating issues. According to DownDetector, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads — all under Meta's ownership — experienced disruptions shortly after 11 p.m. (Philippine time).
Mobile Facebook users encountered a pop-up alerting them that their session had expired, prompting them to log in again. However, attempting to do so resulted in an error message stating, "Unable to log in. An unexpected error occurred. Please try logging in again."
Web browser users attempting to log into Facebook were incorrectly informed that their password was incorrect. Similar issues were reported by users trying to access Facebook Messenger. On Instagram, users were able to view most content, but notifications indicated that the feed could not be refreshed. Attempts to access Instagram online led to the display of a notification similar to the one described above.
According to Andy Stone - Meta Spokesperson - the company that owns all these platforms,
"We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now" posted on X (Twitter.com) social media account.
Hopefully, this won't take too long since the platform is being used by billions of people worldwide.
