2022 NATIONAL LITERACY CONFERENCE

1. In celebration of the annual Literacy Week, as stipulated in Presidential Proclamation No. 39, s. l993 titled Declaring the .Period &om September 2 to 8 of Every Year as Literacy Week and DepEd Memorandum No. 072, s. 2019 titled Annual Celebration of the Literacy Week, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the Literacy Coordinating Council (LCC), announces the conduct of the 2022 National Literacy Conference (NLC) with the theme, Transforming the Future of Literacy Education for Effective Learning Recovery, which will be virtually held on September 7-8, 2022, and will be broadcasted live simultaneously on D pEd Philippines and Literacy Coordinating Council's Facebook pages.
2. The 2022 NLC specifically aims to
a. showcase initiatjves and efforts of the Department and other stakeholders in transforming the future of literacy education for effective learning recovery;
b. strengthen equal access, incJusivity, and gender-transformative education for all learners;
c. promote awareness on financing literacy and mobilization of domestic resources for literacy;
d. strengthen engagement with Local Government Units and multi-stakeholders
towards inclusive, equitable, and effective learning recovery; and
e. solicit policy recommendations supportive of transforming the literacy landscape in the country.
3. The expected participants to this conference are as follows:

Heads and members of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), including NGOs that are actively involved in implementing literacy programs and projects | |

4. All participants shall register at https://bit.ly/2022NLC_Registration on or before September 6, Tuesday.
5. In compliance with the DepEd Memorandum issued last August 22, 2022 on the Conduct of Trainings, Workshops, Seminars, and Participation to Meetings and other Engagements that will require Officials and Employees to Leave their Work Stations, DepEd field officials and teaching and non-teaching personnel who wish to partake in the event may watch the recorded version of the livestreaming of the 2022 NLC trough Face book pages of the Literacy Coordinating Council and DepEd Philippines.
6. No registration fees will be collected for the purpose of this virtual conference. The meeting link will be provided to the officially registered participants one day before the event. However, attendance to the virtual room will be on a first-come-first-served basis and shall only accommodate 100 participants. The participants who will be accommodated in the virtual room are enjoined to actively participate during workshops that will be conducted in breakout rooms. All other registered participants will be accommodated via Facebook Live on DepEd Philippines and Literacy Coordinating Council's official Facebook pages.
7. Certificate of Participation will be issued to those who will accomplish the evaluation form that will be provided at the concluding part of the conference.
8. Enclosed is a copy of the indicative program of activities for the 2022 National Literacy Conference. Additional details and information will be posted in LCC's Facebook page and website at https://www.facebook.com/LiteracyCoordinatingCouncil and https://lcc.deped.gov.ph/.
